HISTORY of Sheikh Chilli's Tomb
Seikh Chilli’s tomb is the best tourist places in Kurukshetra. It is called the “Taj of Haryana”.
This tomb was constructed in 1650 by Darashikoh in memory of a famous scholar named Sheikh Chili and the eldest son of the fifth Mughal emperor Shah Jahan. Sheikh Chili’s tomb has an octagonal shape made of buff sandstone and a marble dome with carved floral architecture on the ceiling It is known as a pather masjid(stone mosque) it consists of two tombs, first is a madrasa, a stunning garden, and a museum. A second tomb was built in memory of Sheikh Chili’s wife. Some people say that this tomb resembles the Taj Mahal in certain aspects.
The cenotaph of the Sufi occupies the center of the chamber. Still, his grave is situated in the lower chamber, ultimately unifying the madrasa (school) along the gallery. In a museum, you can see some seals, terracotta scalps, swords, and many more kingdoms occupying these things during the first and seventh centuries. Almost all the structures in this museum have Persian designs. Seikh Chilli’s Tomb is the main attraction of visitors.

Sheikh Chili’s tomb is located near to Bhadarkali temple in Thanesar in the district of Kurukshetra and situated in Bahari Mohalla. This tomb is considered to be one of the best attractions in Kurukshetra. the most interesting is that it’s not a crowded place so, you can enjoy its scenic view.
